What is an Ultra Bernedoodle?
An "Ultra Bernedoodle" refers to a Bernedoodle with a higher percentage of Bernese Mountain Dog genetics compared to a standard F1 or multi-generational Bernedoodle. It is generally a cross between a Bernedoodle (needs to be fully furnished) back to a purebred Bernese Mountain dog.

Will they have the famous "Teddy Bear look" we love?

YES, they will all have the "teddy bear look", as long as the Bernedoodle used in the pairing carries 2 furnishing genes. We absolutely need to GENETICALLY TEST our parents in order to know what they carry!

Will they shed or be hypoallergenic?
Ultra Bernedoodles are genetically identical to an F1 Bernedoodle, meaning they will only carry 1 copy of furnishings. The furnishing gene is the gene we need to look for, for people with allergies. A dog with only 1 copy of furnishing would not be suitable for a family with allergies, as they can still shed some (although, not even near as much as a Bernese).

What will their coat be like?

Since we breed back to a Bernese, their coat will either be straight or wavy, which is in my book, the easiest coat to groom!

What size will they be?

Because we are breeding a Bernedoodle back to a Bernese Mountain dog, they typically are larger in size. We can sometimes produce medium size puppies if we use a smaller Bernedoodle stud to one of our smaller Bernese Mountain dog moms, but size can still never be guaranteed to be smaller. We will for sure have a variety within the litter.
Genetics are funny sometimes and puppies can pull genetics even from their great-grandparents!
